welcome!
why i’m here
as each of us journeys into the great big hugemongous world of the internet, we all want to leave our mark, blaze a trail, inspire someone, learn and grow, and have fun doing it! right? RIGHT! welp, that’s why i decided to create this little space of mine—sillygolucky. i know, cheesey name isn’t it?? hehe!! well but that’s me. :D i’m silly, and i always will be! *goofyface* *sticks-out-tongue*
i have to tell ya now that i’m no blogging or website expert or any sort of connoisseur on big deal subject matters that people may be interested in like politics, hollywood or news. im not eccentric, eclectic, artsyfartsy, drop-dead-gorgeous or possess superhero powers. ;)
i’m just here to blab about my life, what i think about it, and what i’m doing with it. if you want to know some basics about me personally, keep readin! heck, even i was surprised after i finished this page. haha!!
i suppose the *real* reason why this site is here is because of my blog, which i had been keeping on yahoo 360. for me, my blog is like my own personal journal…and im a traditional geek in the sense that deep down i wish i had the patience to to actually write in a little book instead of blog *hehe*
but i just type so much faster than i can write…so its much more therapeutic this way!! a lot of things as far as my health and fitness have been going on this year, and that’s pretty much the blog theme, with some other odd topics thrown in there :D
but its all nothing fancyschmancy, so if you’re looking for a Diary of Anne Frank or somethin, you won’t find it here!! hehe!! i just blab about what’s on my mind, my heart and my soul. and in the process i hope i can make a difference in someone else’s life…or at least make them laugh!! :D
whew okay, nothin like writin a novel right off the bat! HAHA! you’ll find out soon enough this is not uncommon for me ;)
welp, that’s it for now…so glad you’re here! make yourself at home! :D
~josey~ :)
who i am
- i have a younger sister, cybil. we’re 5 years and 250 miles apart.
- i was afraid of blonde men, bats, and handicapped people when i was a child. (maybe still blonde men. LOL)
- i liked playing outside, climbing trees, and playing with all the neighbor kids (who were all boys). definitely a tomboy!
- i went to the same elementary and jr/sr high school for all my education. i feel lucky that way!
- my first “kiss” was at 4 years old, right outside my bedroom. my mom has the picture for proof! his name was ricky and he was my neighbor. and, and…i could run faster than he could ;)
- my first “date” was in 5th grade; i went to see GhostBusters in the theatre with another neighbor named Adam. i had a crush on him! i wore a pink sweater and purple corduroys. *hehe*
- my sister and i stole halloween candy from on top of the refrigerator thru an air vent in the ceiling that went into our bedroom. dad got in trouble for it! teehee! and mom never knew the truth until about 5 years ago. >;-D
- i took piano lessons from 3rd-7th grade. i then gave it up to be a cheerleader which only lasted one year. it was fun tho!
- i took voice lessons for 2 years as a teenager.
- i was active in choir, science club and FFA forestry judging in high school.
- i once jumped out of a 2-story window of an old abandoned school because my boyfriend and i accidentally got locked in! (no, we weren’t making out!! LOL)
- i graduated high school in 1992, 4th in my class of 85. i worked a year and went to college in 1993.
- i grew up with a black lab named zeus (aka my hairy brother). he went to the rainbow bridge in 1997, just a month before i graduated from college and my sister graduated from high school. (not surprisingly, my dad developed an ulcer that year.)
- my parents are still married after 30some odd years. and they are definitely odd sometimes!! ;)
- as an adult, i’ve lived in NE IN, the UP of MI, the burbs of Chicago, IL, and now SE WI. definitely will always be a midwestern girl.
- i am superdooper happily married to ken, and we have 5 furry children: 1 dog—maizy, and 4 cats—cadet, cali, snax, and trixie.
- in march 2007 i was diagnosed with stage 3 endometriosis. i have decided to not take any drugs and have been changing my diet and lifestyle to help my body heal on its own.
- i want to have children someday, but for now i am focusing on getting healthier. because of my endometriosis, i may never be able to conceive, and i won’t be using any sort of fertility drug or process to get pregnant. it’s in God’s hands!
- ken has taught me that i’m not who i thought i always was, but instead i’m who i always thought i wanted to be. i just need to believe in myself. he’s my perfect partner <3
- 2005 was the first time i’d ever flown in an airplane.
- i started doing yoga this year and i love it!
- fall is my fave season. it smells good, it feels good, it sounds good, and reminds me that change is good. :)
- i like to flare my nostrils and make people laugh. *FLARE* :8D
- i am an excellent grammar student. however, online i rarely use capitalization or certain punctuation, and i make up my own spellings for some words.
- i have never broken a bone. *knock on wood*
- i LOVE to play games. any kind—board games, cards, PC games, video games, mind games. LOL! but i am NOT competitive.
- it really annoys me when people are constantly on their cell phones (and talking loudly) in stores and restaurants for no apparent important reason.
- i LOVE to laugh be BE SILLY (goofy, dorky, immature, etc…) *<8^D
- i am SO LUCKY!! (blessed, fortunate, privileged, etc…!)
- my reasons for blogging are:
- to have a creative outlet for all my life’s ups and downs
- to encourage others on their journey to better health
- to inspire other women with endometriosis or related issues that there are other options that actually work, and encourage them to educate themselves in order to take responsibility for their health!
