day 7--i see the light at the bottom of the soup bowl!
Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 07:55PM helloooo! :)
so how’s the weekend treatin ya so far? i hope lovely!! it’s icky and foggy and rainyish here in WI today, and other than a quick errand run this morning i’ve been hiding out indoors.
so like i mentioned in the day 6 post, this morning i felt quite discombobulated. lol. i’m thinking, tho, i’m on the upswing of the icky section of the cleanse! i watched a little tv this afternoon (maybe 2 hours total), and during one show began to snooze off!
so, off went the toob and zonked went i. LOL.
about 45 minutes later i woke up, feeling superb! i still do. yaybers. my hunger came back after the nap, too, so i assume that’s a good sign. i had my delish salad for dindin… romaine, cukes, red onion, walnuts, pumpkin & sunflower seeds, and an avocado/EVOO/lemon juice/sea salt dollop :)
and for the first time in a week feel decently alert and in a very good mood :)
eating the fruit for the first 2 meals of the day has also been a spiffy highlight for me! today the cleansing chix soup didn’t taste bad at all ;)
i am just finishing up making homemade yogurt from raw whole milk! tomorrow i’ll be having it twice with a little raw honey. it should taste divine! the probiotics in the yogurt will be quite welcome to my digestive system, i’m sure. then for dinner i can add fish and raw milk cheese with my salad. i’m definitely going to feel like i’m having a gourmet meal!
so tonite i’m going to add something special to my evening soak in the tub—bentonite clay. you’ve probably heard of clay masks for your face or body, and this does the same. *continutes with a nerdy look* when added to water, the minerals in the clay take on a strong negative charge and bind with the positively charged toxins and bad guys through your skin. it’s like a super-charged sponge that sucks all the gunk out!
if you want to learn a little more, visit shirley’s wellness café. i didnt buy a special kit—just some high quality bentonite—and my clay bath wont be as intense as what is discussed there, but you get the idea :) my goal is to just help my cleansing process along a teeny bit more.
while visiting the shirley’s wellness café website i also read extensively about what’s called a healing crisis. it basically means when you make a positive change in your diet or use other natural healing modalities (my cleanse, for example) there will most likely be a period of time shortly thereafter where you will actually feel worse than before.
NOTE: RIDE IT OUT & REST (if you can)!
dont try to suppress it with any chemical means (pepto or tylenol, etc…) or think the change was a bad idea. actually, you should be thankful for the crappy-dappy mood and icky-blechy feelings or whatever happens, even if it’s intense. it’s your body’s natural process of throwing out the “old” and making room for the new, improved you!! you can read a little more about healing crisis here. it’s all very informative, but my favorite section is the one by Dr. Stanley Bass.
reading all of it has really helped me appreciate the particularly UNpleasant nuances of this last week. and i feel even better knowing that i’m on my way to having the best year yet because i’m starting out on the right path!
it’s hard to believe i only have 3 days left! the week went by very quickly. YAY!!
i’ll check back in tomorrow nite. see you then!!
